An Introduction

So, yes, hello, and welcome to Everyday Wonderland. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to write the first post on a brand new weblog, but I’ll start off with telling you about what Everyday Wonderland is and how it came about.
My name is Helgi, and for the past 5 years or so I have been going through what can only be described as a pure miracle of spiritual transformation. Words are of course inadequate when trying to explain it, but in simple terms what happened is that I hit the rock bottom of deep depression and suffering, and went from there to the heights of the most incredible sense of peace I could have ever imagined possible.
I’m still in the process of awakening; the sense of peace still fluctuates, but every day I feel that the foundation grows more solid. It is now at a point where suffering is almost non-existent, and I have started to notice drastic changes in my external surroundings and the way I go about my life from day to day. It is building up to what the writing on this website intends to explore: an Everyday Wonderland, where you begin to experience even the mundane aspects of your daily life as a fascinating adventure. Which may sound fanciful and unlikely, but when you have had the first glimpse of “the peace that passes all understanding,” you will know instantly that this is how life was meant to be experienced.
As for the website itself, I will be fine-tuning it over the coming weeks, adding features and fixing things as I go along (basic features like article categories and a chronological archiving system for example).
The writing will revolve mostly around the subject of spiritual awakening, and among the things I want to explore is to write about my favorite pointers, the phrases or ideas that have had the most powerful effect in my practice. These are mostly aphorisms and quotations I’ve come across over the years, but also little bits I’ve written down after having had them come to me in sudden insights, and are then probably paraphrased summaries of something I had been reading earlier. I would like to elaborate on these pointers, and write about my experiences with them.
I’ve found it very helpful to write about what I have learned during this process of awakening, and now it is my great pleasure to publish these writings, so that others may come to discover the Everyday Wonderland that is available to anyone willing to look for it.
